Cumhuriyet Balosu / Republic Day Ball

About this event

Dear Members and Friends,

We have completed all our preparations for the Republic Ball that we have all been eagerly awaiting, and we are ready for you. This year, we will celebrate the 101st anniversary of our Republic, Atatürk’s legacy, together. We have prepared a night that will likely be one of the wealthiest programs TAAC has organized, with the glamorous theme of the 1920s Great Gatsby era. We aim to give you a small glimpse into the spirit of the Great Gatsby era. Ladies, if you wish, feel free to join in the fun by dressing in 1920s-inspired “Flapper Dresses.”

This year, you will also have the chance to win one of two round-trip tickets to Türkiye, which THY generously donated.

In our cocktail lounge, you can explore and admire the 15-piece exhibition “The Language of Motifs,” crafted by the talented young women of the Beylerbeyi Sabancı Olgunlaşma Institute. This exhibition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so please don’t miss it!

Sezen Cin Özdemir, the choir conductor of Istanbul Üsküdar Musiki Cemiyeti, will join us to perform some of the most beloved pieces of Turkish classical music, including songs that Atatürk cherished. The Taksim Big Band will accompany her.

Mete Tasin, the internationally renowned opera singer, will perform selections of Turkish music, accompanied by pianist Greg Jacobs.

Royal Society Jazz Orchestra, a band famous in the Bay Area for its 1930s Great Gatsby-era music, will set the mood with their lively tunes. We’re confident you’ll enjoy their performance.

Nilgün Wolpe, along with Janny Vazquez, Daniel Juarez, Alejandra Armenti, and Valentine Juarez, will grace the stage with performances of Argentine tango and various ballroom dances.

Filiz İlkay Balta, Türkiye’s first female bagpipe/TULUM artist, will take us on a short musical tour of Türkiye featuring Atatürk’s cherished piece, Atabarı.

Each of our guests will receive a complimentary bottle of GÜLOR wine.

Embassy Suites offers a special room rate of $129 + tax for our guests. To book a suite, please email us at taacsiliconvalley@gmail.com.

* Regretfully, we cannot accommodate kids under the age of 7.

Seating arrangements are on a first come first serve basis and based on availability.
